@Mescalero
Zitat eines amerikanischen Bogenbauers und Jägers der den Handschock der sogenannten ASL eleminieren wollte:
i tried real hard getting into that market and designed an ASL with very little hand shock by increasing pre load and balancing the limbs to a tee. I succeeded quite nicely in doing so too. I hauled two of them around the country for two years putting them in the hands of hard core Howard Hill fans, and you know what the general response was? They didn't draw smooth enough because of the early weight of the preload..... they were too fast and trajectory too flat... (They couldn't watch that beautiful arch of the arrow
and........ they didn't have that "Thump" at the end of the draw like a Howard Hill bow is supposed to have......
After that i gave up trying to get into that market and wrote the whole croud off as hero worshipers, and traditionalists. not archers looking for a smoother flatter shooting bow with no hand shock.
These guys are elitists, or traditionalist, and there are lots and lots of really good folks that are seriously into it. Please don't get me wrong here guys. Although i roast these guys a lot about their thumper bows, and kind of chuckle when they try and justify the hand shock by saying you have to learn how to grip the bow just right to absorb the shock, i met a bunch of really good archers shooting long bows. Some of them boys could make sweet music with those sticks and kick your ass around a 3D course....... the dad burn things are dead quiet. ya gotta give em that.
Sehr schön ausgedrückt find ich!
@Peter
Auf die Ausgangsfrage habe ich ja bereits Bezug genommen.
Na gut dann lass es halt, Peter!
